CHO RAY HOSPITAL TRANSFERS INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY TECHNIQUES TO NAM CAN THO UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

From June 27th, the team of doctors and nurses who are skilled in cardiology from Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) will coordinate and transfer techniques to the doctors and nurses of the Nam Can Tho University Hospital to intervene in the treatment of heart disease, providing a service equivalent to that of Cho Ray Hospital.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Director of Cho Ray Hospital, Nam Can Tho University Hospital has full facilities, modern equipment, and human resources for safe, effective, and secure cooperation for specialized techniques in interventional cardiovascular diseases.

In the coming time, Cho Ray Hospital will send a team of experienced experts in cardiology and interventional cardiology, such as Dr. Nguyen Thuong Nghia, Head of the Interventional Cardiology Department, Dr. Ly Ich Trung, Deputy Head of the Interventional Cardiology Department, and Dr. Ngo Minh Hung, Deputy Head of the Interventional Cardiology Department,…to actively support Nam Can Tho University Hospital in handling complex cases in the field of interventional cardiology. With the main goal of taking care of people's health, Cho Ray Hospital and Nam Can Tho University Hospital will coordinate interventional cardiology for the first 30 patients, offering them a 30-100% of discount on treatment costs.

At the event, Cho Ray Hospital transferred cardiovascular intervention techniques to Nam Can Tho University Hospital, and Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien said that, although it has only been in operation for more than one year, Nam Can Tho University Hospital has made great strides and has been highly appreciated and trusted by local leaders and people. In particular, the Hospital pays great attention to building a team of doctors and nurses with medical ethics and high skills, improving the quality of patient care, continuously updating advanced methods in medical examination and treatment, investing in modern and large-scale equipment and facilities, and strengthening professional cooperation in the field of health with large and prestigious hospitals in and outside the region.

Nam Can Tho University Hospital was built in an area of more than 25,000 m² in Hung Thanh Ward, Cai Rang District, Can Tho City. Nam Can Tho University Hospital is invested in construction including one basement and ten floating floors, with a construction floor area of 30,500 m².

Can Tho University Hospital was granted a License of Medical Examination and Treatment by the Ministry of Health No. 322/BYT-GPHĐ on May 31, 2022, and officially came into operation on June 18, 2022. The hospital has 300 beds with 29 departments and function rooms.

In particular, the Department of Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology was established under the Decision No. 3333/QĐ-BYT dated December 9, 2022 of the Ministry of Health with the functions and tasks of diagnosing, treatmenting, rehabilitating, and preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. At the same time, the Department of Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology also cooperates with other specialties to perform difficult techniques in disease diagnosing and treatmenting.
