Successful surgery for Complex Bone Fusion for a 61-Year-Old Woman from Can Tho
On April 4, Nam Can Tho University Hospital in Can Tho City announced the successful completion of a complex bone fusion surgery for a 61-year-old female patient.

Accordingly, the patient had injured her left shoulder in a traffic accident, and she purchased medicine for treatment. However, her shoulder pain did not improve, and she experienced sharp, shooting pain in her left shoulder and had difficulty moving, so she came to Nam Can Tho University Hospital for examination.
At Nam Can Tho University Hospital, doctors in the Department of General Surgery conducted medical examinations and diagnosed the patient with a complicated fracture in her upper left humerus.

The doctors stated that this was a difficult case because the bone was broken into 4 pieces, and the proximal end was rotated and angulated. In addition, the patient has diabetes, increased blood pressure, myocardial ischemia, and high cardiovascular risk during surgery. After consultation, the doctors agreed to conduct bone fusion surgery for the patient.
As a result, the surgery was a success and the patient's health has significantly improved. The patient is undergoing physical therapy and rehabilitation and is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.
